RELAXATION

Relaxation massage is a smooth, gentle, flowing style that promotes general relaxation, relieves muscular tension, and improves circulation and movement range. It aims to relax, revive and rejuvenate you at a massage depth that does not cause pain or discomfort.  It also reduces pain, muscle soreness and tension, while improving circulation, energy and alertness, lowering heart rate and blood pressure.

Deep Tissue Massage

DEEP TISSUE

Deep Tissue Massage uses slow strokes and deep finger pressure to relieve tension from the deepest layers of your muscles and connective tissues.  The pressure will generally be more intense than a relaxation massage.  Deep tissue massage gives attention to painful trouble spots on the body.  Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage but with slow and firm pressure applied to release muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).

Sports Massage

SPORTS

Sports massage is a targeted massage approach that focuses on specific areas of the body that are in need of healing or relief.  It is proven to release and reduce tension in muscles, improve circulation and encourage the removal of waste products such as lactic acid during high intensity activity and can help to relax the body.  All of this helps promote recovery and reduces the chance of muscle injury.  Sports massage is manual manipulation of the muscles geared specifically toward helping people who have physically demanding lifestyles and/or hobbies. This kind of massage considers the impact of certain activities on specific joints, muscle groups, tendons, ligaments, and soft tissue groups.

Hot Stone Massage

HOT STONE

Hot stone therapy is a specialist massage that uses smooth, flat, heated basalt stones that are positioned along your spine, in the palms of your hands and along your legs.  This type of massage allows you to enter deeper into a state of relaxation as the heat within the rocks relaxes the muscles, making them more pliable allowing them to be worked on more effectively.  The heat and smoothness of the stones rolling over your body is relaxing, but more invigorating than a traditional Swedish massage.  Hot stone is focused on helping a client to relax tight muscles.

Cupping Massage

CUPPING

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine where a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction.  This promotes blood flow to the compromised area, enhances circulation and helps to increase the body's own healing processes — almost like a backward deep tissue massage.  People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.  This may relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue.

reflexology
Reflexology Massage

REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is the application of pressure to areas on the feet (or the hands). The theory behind reflexology is that areas of the foot correspond to organs and systems of the body. Reflexology is generally relaxing and may help alleviate stress.  While massage works with the structure of a body, reflexology's purpose is to work to improve gland, organ, and systems functions.  Reflexology's goal is to promote a response from the soft tissue stimulated through the nervous system and the meridians.  Although reflexology is not used to diagnose or cure disease, millions of people around the world use it to complement other treatments when addressing conditions like anxiety, asthma, cancer treatment, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, headaches, kidney function, and sinusitis.

TIPS

Taking a shower before your massage is a always a good idea. You should rinse off chlorine, perspiration, colognes or environmental pollutants before your treatment or therapy, because you don't want all that to be rubbed into your skin.
